Scrambled eggs are a breakfast staple because they’re high in protein, easy to prepare, and incredibly versatile. With just eggs, milk, and butter, you can create a restaurant-style dish right at home.
Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons butter
Salt (to taste)
Optional: Black pepper
How to Make Scrambled Eggs
Step 1: Beat the Eggs Until Frothy
Crack three eggs into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup of milk. Whisk the mixture thoroughly until it becomes light and frothy. The air incorporated during whisking helps create fluffy scrambled eggs.
Tip: The more evenly you whisk, the softer your eggs will be.
Step 2: Heat the Butter Gently
Place a non-stick frying pan over low to medium heat. Add 2 teaspoons of butter and let it melt slowly. Avoid high heat, as it can cause the eggs to cook too quickly and become rubbery.
Low heat is the secret to creamy scrambled eggs.
Step 3: Cook and Stir Gently
Pour the egg mixture into the pan. Let it sit for a few seconds, then gently stir using a spatula. Push the eggs from the edges toward the center, allowing soft curds to form.
Continue stirring slowly until the eggs are cooked but still slightly moist. Do not let them turn brown. Remove from heat just before they look fully done they will continue cooking from residual heat.
Step 4: Serve Immediately
Serve your scrambled eggs hot with buttered bread or toast. You can also pair them with fresh fruit, sautéed vegetables, or breakfast sausages for a complete meal.
